ROUND 1 DD2/DD2 MASTER

21 Oct, 2025

RACE REPORT

ROUND 1.1 – SATURDAY – 11 OCTOBER 2025

A number of familiar and returning faces graced the DD2 and DD2 Masters grid but nobody could hold a candle to Tyla Harris in qualifying who took pole position on his debut in Rotax’s ‘Ultimate Class.’

Harris continued his imperious form in the heat and pre final, keeping Adam Malek and Rotax Invitational winner Hamza Hashisho at arm’s length while returning duo Maurits Knopjes and Kyle Blockley battled over DD2 Masters honours.

In the final itself Harris withstood some early pressure from Malek and Hashisho before pulling away to record his first win in the class while a post-race penalty for Hashisho relegated him to fourth behind Malek and Masters winner Knopjes.

ROUND 1.2 – SUNDAY – 12 OCTOBER 2025

After completing a clean sweep of wins on Saturday, Harris was able to finish the entire weekend undefeated with another set of commanding performances on Sunday even if his run in the final was fraught with uncertainty.

Pole position, heat and pre final victories set Harris up for what appeared to be an easy run to the flag in the final but that was before mother nature intervened, sending a sandstorm across the circuit and forcing Harris to drive extremely tentatively as his rivals closed in behind.

Despite a tremendous amount of pressure, Harris held on by two tenths of a second over Hashisho with Malek completing the podium and Knopjes taking honours in DD2 Masters again.
