AARKC 2011-12 ROUND 9 PREVIEW

AARKC Round 9 preview Round 9 of the Al Ain Raceway Kart Club series is taking place at the Dubai Kartdrome this Friday.

With the championship contenders thinning out as we make the final run to the end of the season expect to see some frantic racing.

In DD2, Maurits Knopjes will be gunning to put the championship to bed once and for all. He should be weary as Mohammed Al Dhaheri will be on a charge to claw back the deficit after a wheel failure last time. Watch out for Oliver George who has been threatening to win for a while now and has been going very well at the Dubai circuit.

In Senior MAX Sanad Al Rawahi will also be looking to put himself in an untouchable position. Piers Pakenham-Walsh will be returning to push him hard to the end like last time. Keep your eyes on Alexandre Silanine and Philippe Valenza, their recent form suggests that they will have a role to play.

In MAX Master Andrew Fuller will be hoping for a trouble free day where hopefully he can score big points to pull out a bigger gap in the standings. Luc Bauwmans and Walid Al Qassemi will both be hoping to forget the last round as they look to close the gap on Fuller. New face Duncan Foster is the one to keep an eye on.

Junior MAX will again be hotly contested by the usual protagonists. Abdullah Al Rawahi is the man to beat as the others line up to mount a challenge. Cyrus Engineer is very quick around Dubai and as the closest challenger to Al Rawahi will be vying for glory.

Mini MAX continues to thrive and the racing is expected to be phenomenally close once more. Taymour Kermanshahchi goes into the race with the point’s advantage but his contenders – Zachary Robertson, Alain Bauwmans and Tehmur Chohan – will have something to say about that for sure.

Racing is due to commence at 11:00 on Friday 16th March.
