6 Hour Endurance Race Report
Team ATR won a third successive 6 hour endurance race on Friday night after holding off a strong charge from Team Emirates. ATR 2, made up of duo Dan Price and Hussain Umid Ali, led from the start and showed no signs of backing off. Drama struck at mid-distance however when their accelerator stuck open. The defect was quickly rectified but by this stage Team Emirates A had started to reel them in. It was an intense final hour as the Emirates Airways team got the gap down to 37 seconds, but it wasn’t enough to depose the ATR front runners. The sister ATR team, ATR 3, completed the top three but their domination continued to fourth place, with ATR 1 coming home fourth. Team Alpha-Q came home fifth after holding off the sister Emirates team, Emirates Team B, who were classified sixth.
